Why Millie Mackintosh is having salmon cells injected into her head

Millie Mackintosh may have suspected there was something fishy about her friendship with Meghan Markle when an invitation to the royal wedding failed to arrive.

Now, the former Made In Chelsea star, 35, has got the smart set talking again by having salmon stem cells injected into her scalp. The non-surgical anti-ageing treatment is said to help treat hair loss by encouraging follicles to grow again.

‘I wanted to try a scalp treatment for a while, so I’ve had some exosomes injected into my hairline to help promote hair growth,’ says Millie, whose forebear invented Quality Street chocolates.

Health experts have, however, warned that the treatment, which can cost more than £3,000 for five sessions, might lead to bacterial infections including, in extremely rare cases, life-threatening sepsis. ‘I am doing a course so I will let you know the results,’ Millie promises.

David and Lord are fast friends

This week, the former porn baron, 75, met Edward Davenport at The Arts Club in Mayfair

He’s the respectable chairman of West Ham United, but David Sullivan likes to keep in touch with figures from his more colourful past.

This week, the former porn baron, 75, met Edward Davenport at The Arts Club in Mayfair. ‘Fast Eddie’, 58, who styles himself ‘Lord Edward’ despite lacking any aristocratic heritage, is a convicted fraudster who’s served two prison sentences. ‘It was a fun evening,’ Eddie tells me. ‘David and I have been friends since the 1980s.’

Yasmin’s racy relationship with Gandy was a bit of a car crash

Yasmin Le Bon (L) and David Gandy attend the cocktail opening of the Chopard exhibition

David Gandy is enjoying a very dangerous friendship with fellow model Yasmin Le Bon.

Often described as Britain’s most handsome man, bokep chindo Gandy, 44, once competed with the wife of Duran Duran star Simon Le Bon in Italian open-road endurance race the Mille Miglia, which involves driving 1,000 miles in five days.

And he now reveals that Yasmin, 59, crashed their classic Jaguar XK120 outside Rome.

‘It was a very wet day and another competitor nearly came into us. Yasmin brilliantly avoided her but unfortunately the car came off, and we went down a grassy bank,’ he tells Travel Secrets podcast. ‘I saw the Jaguar team go past, and I was probably very unsympathetic to Yasmin and told her, ‘Just get back in the car and drive’.’

Charles is King of the Road

King Charles drives Queen Camilla to church in a new Electric Audi. The electric vehicle was made in Belgium and registered in this country in July

King Charles still wears the same faded tartan tweed coat that’s been repaired for decades, but when it comes to his wheels he prefers them brand new.

As he drove to church at Crathie near Balmoral earlier this month, the Monarch was seen behind the wheel of an Audi Q8 E-Tron S Line 55 Quattro.

The electric vehicle was made in Belgium and registered in this country in July. The Quattro costs £76,000 and can reach 62mph in less than six seconds. Audi has supplied the Royal Family with cars for years and was handed a Royal Warrant in May.

Richard Doyle, then UK director of the German marque, said at the time: ‘We are delighted to continue working with the King and his team.’

Last year, the King was spotted taking Queen Camilla for a spin in an earlier model of the same car.

Tragic Liam’s art secret

Tragic One Direction star Liam Payne was much more than just a singer, according to his pal, podcaster Steven Bartlett.

‘Liam is a creative in a way that I don’t think people understand,’ he tells me at a party to celebrate the launch of Flight Studios in the East End of London.

‘I remember going to his house and seeing one room where there was all this beautiful artwork that he’d painted and drawn himself.

‘I’ll always remember him for that.’

Bartlett is not the only person who will remember Payne’s skills with a paintbrush. Artist David Hockney is said to have a portrait of himself hanging in his home, created by Payne.

Bartlett adds: ‘He’s a friend. I miss him greatly.’

Diana Moran revealed that she turned down an offer to compete on Strictly Come Dancing

Green Goddess Diana Moran remains remarkably youthful at the age of 85, but even she knows her limits.

Best known for hosting the popular exercise segment on BBC1’s Breakfast Time in the 1980s, she reveals that she turned down an offer to compete on Strictly Come Dancing.

Her friend Angela Rippon was, of course, an inspiration when she became Strictly’s oldest contestant aged 79. ‘I can’t do high kicks like Angela and never could,’ she tells me at a party in London. ‘I’m very energetic, but I wasn’t trained like she was in dancing. She’s got the finesse of dance, and I haven’t got that.’ Diana adds: ‘I appreciate that I’m too old to be thrown about like they do nowadays.’

King Charles has been on the throne for more than two years, but his stepson has still not visited the monarch’s Norfolk retreat.

‘I’ve never been to Sandringham House,’ Tom Parker Bowles reveals.

Sandringham is where the Royal Family gathers for the festive season and Tom was reported to have been due to stay there last year. However, the food writer says: ‘Christmas is usually at my old house with my ex-wife and my children. It really depends on what everyone wants.’

Bernie Ecclestone agreed last year to pay more than a quarter of his wealth to the taxman after admitting hiding £416 million from HMRC. The billionaire’s son-in-law, Jay Rutland, by contrast, can look forward to receiving a windfall.

Rutland, 43, who’s married to Bernie’s daughter Tamara Ecclestone, has wound up his company, Brigante Business Developments, and the declaration of solvency reports an expected payout to him from its liquidation of £244,343.

He signed the paperwork at the 57-room mansion in Kensington, west London, that he shares with Tamara, 40, and their two children. Rutland established Brigante, which means brigand in Italian, in 2012.

That year, he was banned and fined £30,000 after he watered down risk warnings and disclosed inside information as a broker.
